“My journey at Savills went through some transitions. Before settling in Savills Commercial Leasing department, I was a part of the Marketing and Communications (MarCom) team. Although both positions are related to marketing, they are distinct.
During the time at MarCom, I worked across business lines, working with collateral from property management and residential sales to advisory services and investment brokerage. I was also involved in corporate branding when I was part of the team organising Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. The opportunity to get involved in such an extensive scope of work was what I appreciated the most from my experience at MarCom. It helped me develop a broad marketing skill set, including content, digital, events, and beyond.
I have now transitioned to the Commercial Leasing team. My expertise has expanded in a way I would never expect. I can take a more hands-on approach to promote our leasing services for commercial developments, such as shopping malls or office buildings, across Viet Nam. It is my first time overseeing all the marketing activities of a business unit, and so far, the experience has taught me so much. On top of a results-driven marketing mindset, working with talented leasing consultants allows me to improve my business acumen and problem-solving skills, which is particularly important for a marketer.
I am beyond grateful and lucky to be under the supervision of my two bosses, each of whom carry unique expertise and mindsets in their field. No matter if you are an intern or part of the team, having knowledgeable mentors is a great foundation to grow professionally. Being able to combine both my marketing abilities and business-like attitudes helps me produce effective marketing schemes for the developments. I’m happy that I am in a position that allows me to interact with and get support from thoughtful mentors.”
