"My name is Hien. I just finished my internship at the end of February. I felt very lucky to have the opportunity to work at Savills and do my best, make new friends, both young and very professional people.
With Savills Internship Program Q1/2021 nearly at an end, interns working with all our various departments are reflecting on their journeys with the company. The internship program provided the opportunity to earn newfound knowledge and experience at close hand, the Real Estate sector. Ms. Vu Thu Hien, intern of Business Development Department, look back on her journey at Savills.
Before I joined the company, I thought I might not get too close to anyone in such a short time, but I was wrong. It only took me a few days to get used to the new environment, everyone talked to me every day and made me feel really welcome. Especially Andrew Lee, who directly coached and guided me over the past 3 months. Honestly, based on my little experience of working with Koreans before, I thought they were usually very serious and a little bit strict at work, so the first day working with him I was a bit nervous. But I was wrong again. It sounds a bit "cheesy", but Andrew is really caring and treated me very well. He is very busy, often in meetings, but whenever he had free time, he would come back and ask me "is it okay", or "are there any problems". He even encouraged me to leave work early one day! He taught me a lot of interesting things, not only about work but also in life, especially how to treat people. This is really a solid premise for my upcoming journey.
Speaking of unforgettable experiences, I also supported organizing an event at the end of the year. It was the first time that I was involved in such a big event, so it was a little bit overwhelming. After all this time, I just feel so lucky. Lucky to be chosen by Savills, lucky to make friends, super lovely colleagues who speak English like natives, lucky because with only three short months, I had countless experiences.
As I am coming to Sai Gon, I will apply to Savills Ho Chi Minh for a full time role. I hope Savills will give me the opportunity, and if so, look forward to creating, or being part of great experiences in the future."
