"I was fortunate to work in the Valuation Team at Savills Hanoi. As my major at school was in Finance and Real Estate Development, it was great to see my skills improve so much after conducting market research and valuation for actual projects across the northern provinces of Viet Nam. While I expected to only learn how to analyze data, or develop models, I received insights into other Real Estate aspects, such as legal, environmental issues, and construction.

Through my time with Savills Hanoi, I have a greater understanding of the decision-making processes of developers, and end users of real estate products. I’ve learned to ask the right questions and how to navigate the basic steps of how a developer finances a project, how an individual investor forecasts the potential cashflow of a product, and why certain policies are implemented in each province. My mentors never hesitated to provide me with guidance and extra resources to improve my market insights and my finance knowledge. My favorite experience was to conduct site inspections in other provinces where I had the chance to char with local residents, and brokers, on land prices, and quality og life in the area. It made me realize just how strong the connection is between people, culture, and Real Estate.

Savills will always hold a special place in my heart. I will always remember how senior colleagues took the time to advise me on my future education and career path. Some friends I made here are not even within the Valuation team, but I learned from almost everyone I worked with. My other favorite memories include the Valuation and Investment teams’ joint trip to Ninh Binh, bonding over lunchtime coffee with my team, and taking pictures together by Hoan Kiem Lake. I believe Savills served as an important milestone at the start of my career in Real Estate and Finance, and hope others have an equally meaningful experience too"
