The Radisson hotel in Batam launches for sale

Savills Singapore, as the exclusive marketing agent, is proud to offer for sale the 240-room Radisson Hotel and Convention Center Batam.

Situated in the Batam Center, the Radisson Golf and Convention Centre Batam is connected to the 18-hole Sukajadi championship golf course, and is within walking distance to Kepri Shopping Mall and 5km away from the Batam Centre Ferry Terminal.  Amenities include a restaurant and two bars, indoor and outdoor pools, gym, Kids’ Club, Zoysia Spa and the island’s largest conference center facilities.  Catering to both business and leisure travellers, it is TripAdvisor’s top ranked hotel in Batam Center.

Managed by the Radisson Hotel Group under Jin Jiang International, the world’s second largest hotel company, the hotel provides a rare opportunity to acquire an institutional grade hotel asset in this industrial, manufacturing and transport hub.  Located 20 km off Singapore's South coast, it has long been a favourite weekend escape for Singaporeans with 54 per cent of the 1.9m international visitors to the island in 2019 coming from the city-state.

The island has seen continued investment, with the Indonesian government committing to a number of infrastructure projects including a US$275 million bridge connecting Batam and Bintan islands and the creation of two new Special Economic Zones worth S$2.1 billion: Nongsa Digital Park and Batam Aero Technic.  Developers have also invested heavily in Batam’s future with Tuan Sing, Sinarmas and Pollux Properties all investing billions in large-scale mixed-use projects.

Michael Roberts, Director, Savills Hotels, who is handling the sale, commented: “With plans to open a travel bubble between Singapore and Batam in August 2021, we are expecting a surge in the asset’s performance.  Singaporeans, desperate to have a holiday after more than 12 months of travel restrictions, will undoubtably rush to the island for a much-needed break, providing a sharp recovery to pre-COVID levels”.
