Savills Vietnam expands the ‘Savills Cares’ campaign via partnership with AMA

October 2019 – Savills has signed an official partnership with AMA Education Foundation to provide education and professional skills training to students.

After the inauguration of the ‘Savills Cares’ campaign in 2017, Savills Vietnam has continued the program via education and training for disadvantaged students. In addition to an ongoing partnership with Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation, Savills Vietnam has begun an official collaboration with AMA Education Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation. Founded in 2012 by Peter W. Mach, AMA’s core mission is to support Vietnamese students throughout the country via financial aid, mentorship, and development.

The first initiative with AMA is the creation of the ‘AMA - Savills Computer Room’ at the HCMC University of Education dormitory. The room provides disadvantaged students with a comfortable place to study, complete with eight up-to-date computers and a mini library. The area officially opened with the attendance of representatives from the University, AMA, Savills Vietnam and 50 students. During a speech to students, Mr. Neil MacGregor, Managing Director commented: “As universities in Vietnam increasingly introduce computer-based learning to the curriculum, the gap between students who can readily afford computer access and those who cannot have increased. Our goal is to provide computer access to as many students as possible”.

Committing to our “Savills Cares” campaign, we frequently host training courses for AMA students to provide them with essential professional skills and offer internship opportunities at the Savills HCMC office. Industry experts host monthly training sessions, covering a variety of skills for personal and professional development.

‘Savills Cares’

Launched in 2017, “Savills Cares” redirects industry awards fees to help local, disadvantaged people. Charities for underprivileged people around the country have received increased donations as a direct result of the ‘Savills Cares’ campaign, solidifying our commitment to the community.

Present in Vietnam for over 24 years, Savills Vietnam understands that active corporate social responsibility (CSR) is an integral part of a company's success. Mr. Troy Griffiths, Deputy Managing Director, stated, “Savills Vietnam has a strong commitment to CSR activities; the ‘Savills Cares’ campaign is a vital part of our ongoing strategy”.

In addition to AMA, Savills Vietnam has cooperated with Blue Dragon since 2013 via various charity work, including financial and resource support aimed to enhance children’s wellbeing. With the mutual focus on education, Blue Dragon and AMA are supported by the ‘Savills Cares’ campaign throughout Vietnam.

Savills Vietnam was honoured to receive recognition in the 2019 CSR Recognition Awards by the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam in October 2019.
