International real estate advisor Savills has advised its client, an international fashion business, on the sale of the Maki Solitaire office building in Düsseldorf, Germany, to InVision AG. The property is located in Speditionsstraße 5 in the city’s popular Medienhafen area.
The eight-storey Maki Solitaire asset is a modern building developed in 2001 comprising 2,000 sq m of floorspace with a view of the harbour. It is named after the property’s Japanese architect, Fuminiko Maki.
Daniel Weuthen, in Savills Düsseldorf investment team, says: ″Medienhafen is one of the most sought after office locations in Düsseldorf and whilst the demand is high, assets as attractive as Maki Solitaire and of its scale are rare.“
Andreas Wende, head of investment at Savills Germany, adds: ″Düsseldorf remains an attractive market for national and international investors. Evidence of this is the city‘s high investment volume, which was recorded at €1.76 billion in 2013, almost three times higher than the 2012 transaction volume.“
Catella advised InVision AG in the transaction.
