Goodman Group (Goodman or Group) has agreed to develop a 25,547 sq m turnkey warehouse and distribution centre at Puurs, Belgium for Duvel Moortgat, an independent producer of speciality beers such as the premium brands Duvel and Vedett.  Goodman and Duvel Moortgat were advised by Savills in the transaction.

The development will comprise a 21,329 sq m state-of-the-art warehouse, 3,840 sq m mezzanine and 378 sq m of offices and social rooms. The new facility will provide much needed expansion space for Duvel Moortgat, to grow its in-house logistics activities, with the new warehouse to be located just four kilometres from the Duvel brewery. Construction will start this month and handover is scheduled for December 2011.

Following the handover of the warehouse and distribution centre to Duvel, Goodman will retain 31,887 sqm of land available for development at Puurs, which can support a total surface lettable area of 17,828 sqm. The land at Puurs is owned jointly by Goodman Group and the Goodman European Logistics Fund (GELF).

The site is strategically located in the Pullaar II logistics zone in Puurs, Belgium and is less than 500 metres from the N16 highway that connects eastwards to the A12 motorway, which serves Brussels and Antwerp. It also connects westwards to the E17 motorway serving Antwerp and Ghent. Puurs is located 16km from Antwerp, 22km from Brussels and 52km from Ghent and is situated within Belgium’s ‘Golden Triangle’ for logistics.
