High street chemist Boots has taken approximately 1,000 sq m of space at Blackpool Retail Park in Cork at a rent of around €275 per sq m per year. International real estate advisor Savills advised the Shipton Group, who own the retail park, in the letting and Boots, who have taken a 15-year lease, are due to open their doors in May.

The retail park, which has 1,000 free car parking spaces, is located next to Blackpool Shopping Centre and Blackpool Business Centre. An Aldi store has recently opened very successfully and other tenants include Next Home, Maplin Electronics, Argos, Heatons, Lifestyle Sports, Atlantic Homecare DIY, Gate Cinema and Costa Coffee.
Peter O’Meara, director at Savills Cork, says: “This strong retail letting is further evidence that Cork’s retail market is picking up. The opening of Boots further strengthens the tenant mix at Blackpool Retail Park making it an important retail destination and driving up footfall.“
