International real estate advisor Savills has appointed a new Chairman and new Head of Residential for the Irish market.

Larry Brennan has been appointed Chairman. Larry joined Savills (previously Hamilton Osborne King) over 20 years ago and was appointed to the Board of Directors in 1998. Most of his career has been spent heading up the Retail division and he has worked on the most successful retail schemes in the country including Dundrum, Liffey Valley, Pavilions and Jervis. Larry's appointment follows the retirement of Aidan O'Hogan who will continue to act as a consultant for Savills.

"I am delighted to be appointed Chairman of Savills and looking forward to building on the excellent work of Aidan O’Hogan. I will continue to lead the Retail division and in addition be responsible for business development and the continued overall growth of Savills Ireland alongside our Managing Director Angus Potterton." says Larry Brennan.

Ronan O’Driscoll has been appointed Head of Residential. Ronan joined the company in 1988 and since then has been working in the New Homes division becoming a Director in 1997. Since 1988 Ronan has sold over 50,000 New Homes in Ireland and has worked on schemes for many of the country's leading property development companies including Park Developments, Shannon Homes, Albany Homes, Manor Park and Castlethorn.

In this new role Ronan is now responsible for both New Homes and Second Hand Residential. "I look forward to leading the Residential team in what is going to be a very challenging market. I firmly believe the market is finding its level and houses are selling well now as people recognise the value which is available in the market", says Ronan O'Driscoll.

Managing Director Angus Potterton adds: "Larry is an energetic character with huge commitment to the business. We are delighted he has accepted this role and whilst we wish Aidan a very happy retirement we are pleased he will continue to work with us in the role of consultant.

"Ronan’s role has been created as a result of a restructure of the business whereby he will take on responsibility for New Homes and Second Hand Residential, in line with Savills wider UK residential model. He is best placed to drive this part of the business through these challenging times."

Savills is one of the leading property agents in Ireland with a staff of 145 in offices in Dublin, Cork and Belfast.
